Quiénes somos
We are researchers and in the framework of a Scientists4Future Heidelberg project we build a tool to compute and monitor CO2e-footprints of institutes and working groups with the aim to reduce them. It is a tool to protect the climate and to raise awareness about the extent of work-related emissions. It shall be used for example by universities or research institutes as their emissions are much higher than the targets of the Paris Agreement. The users will be mainly researchers. Individuals of a working group will contribute with their personal data (e.g. work-related flights, usage of computers) and at the institute level, information on heating and electricity will be collected. This will, firstly, help to visualize the working groups' footprints. Secondly, by monitoring the footprints over time, they can be reduced in the long run. With this website we offer a bottom-up approach for working groups to be responsible for their emissions when universities don't. Apart from the climate protection aspect, the community aspect and the research setting is important to be visualized (if possible).

It should give the impression to be a serious, trustworthy source of information. Our calculations are based on scientifically proven methodologies. The bottom-up, collective and participatory approach is the main idea. The whole project is based on voluntary data contributions. The design of our future website will be based on the colours of the logo, so the logo should not include too many different colours. Similar colours like the colours used by Scientists4Future (warming stripes, see the attached file) would be good. Apart from the climate protection aspect, the community aspect and the research setting is important to be visualized (if possible).
