Weare looking for a logo for our web site, RedFlagsMadeEasy. Please do not feel use colors or other elementsfrom that site; it is just a Yahoo hosting template and will undergo a redesignafter we have a logo.
Weoffer on-site consulting, remote consulting and do-it-yourself templates forautomobile dealerships on the Red Flags Rule. The Red Flags Rule is a U.S. federal requirement which mandates that companieswhich arrange or extend credit to consumers must have a written Identity TheftPrevention Program (“Red Flags Program”). We also have a corporate blog which discusses broader issues related togovernment regulation and business. Sowe do not want a logo graphic that deplicts either red flags or cars.
Weare a small business and want to look “small” in the positive sense ofthe word. There are any number ofcompliance consulting companies out there that charge $300 bucks an hour foreveryone in the room including the donut delivery guy. They have web sites that are big, solid,bank-like, vault, greek columns, all the rest. We charge on a flat-fee basis, create a tailored, quality product in areasonable amount of time, and send handwritten thank-you cards and a batch ofcookies to our consulting clients.
Wedo not want to appear unprofessional or Mom and Pop -ish. We offer real value to our customers thatincludes:
- We save them an immense amount of time
- We offer a quality product that reduces the risk of identity theft while not turning the customer's business model upside down
- We are reasonably priced, charging a flat fee for our products and engagements
- We make a complex project simple and easy to complete and implement; we break things down step-by-step for the customer.Anexample of a logo that I really like is from Clarity Accounting. I love the piggy bank and the way it conveysa complex set of ideas (security, money, trust, simplicity, planning, etc.) inone simple, clear image. Although theyoffer accounting software, their logo is not a spreadsheet, abacus, ledger, calculator, or dollar sign; a piggy bank is something simpler that evokes positivefeelings in most people.
Mostpeople do not wake up thinking, “WOW I can’t wait to go do some bookkeepingtoday!” and yet their logo associates something positive to the task. Similarly, none of our customers wake upthinking, “WOW I can’t wait to write an Identity Theft Prevention Program tocomply with some federal regulation today!” and we want a logo that associatessomething positive with it. Can youhelp?
