We are a small jewelry store that has been family owned, operated and located in the Youngstown, Ohio since 1947. My grandfather Joe Sr. opened this business by himself and his son (my uncle) Joe Jr. eventually learned the trade, took over and ran the store very successfully for years until he had a sudden heart attack in 2001. After Joe Jr. passed away my family wasn't sure how to keep our tiny little boutique store running so my father Mark, who had started and operated several very successful small businesses of his own, decided he would take on the challenge of learning a new trade and keeping our store alive. Shortly after we reopened, I joined my father in the store full time. Slowly but surely we have turned a great little shop into an incredible little shop. We've spent the last decade focused on figuring out what kind of service our customers needed, what kind of products they wanted and how to offer that at a price where it was affordable to everyone...and we think we figured that out. Now as we continue to grow it's time to turn some of that focus onto branding ourselves, and I believe that starts with a fresh new logo.

We have just purchased a new Crystalite sign (http://www.signtronix.com/product-crystalite.asp) for in front of our store. The top portion of the sign measures 4' x 8' and we will be installing a 4' x 8' HD LCD screen underneath. We have the ability to use full color images, gradients and specially shaped cases on the top portion. (refer to attached image example.jpg) This top portion will contain our logo, but we will also be using this logo in many other places (ring boxes, business cards, receipts, website etc.) so we need something that will be translatable to a range of different mediums and clear in both black and white and color. Currently we use different fonts, layouts and styles for almost every aspect of our business and we want to clean that up. We want to present a consistent image the clearly states who we are and will eventually become easily recognizable and identifiable as a something coming from our store.
Thing's we'd like to see:
- Our store name should be the focus of the design.
- Very clean & crisp fonts and images.
- Easy to read in color and b&w.
- The use of a diamond (possibly a ring and/or watch)
