sssticker.com Logo Brief
First about the free stickers.
What is a contest without a second and third place?
We wish we could offer more money for your winning design, but this is a new venture for us and lets face it the economy is not what it once was. But that got us to thinking - You are designers, we are printers, lets work something out.
As an added incentive for the winner and two separate "runner-up" designers we would like to offer to print a sticker design of your choice. The contest winner will receive 200 stickers of one design, printed on our state of the art digital press and contour cut to size on premium white adhesive backed vinyl. Second and third place will each receive 100 stickers. All sticker designs you furnish should fit inside a 6" x 6" or smaller area. Other sizes are fine but they must be 36 square inches or less total. We will include free ground shipping to anywhere in the United States. If you live outside the United states you must pay for shipping.
This can be any single sticker design of your choice, use them for self promotion, sell them to an existing client, or do a huge favor for a friend. You just need to send us an Adobe Illustrator file or Adobe Acrobat print ready file of your choice.
Please note the winner of the contest design is obvious, the two runner-ups will be selected by us based on our design brief below. If a single designer has the best two or three designs they can only win one free set of decals, we want to spread the love to different designers. Lastly the contest must be guaranteed for the free sticker offer to kick in. If we don't like any design submitted for our logo - all offers are off. We are pretty sure that won't happen after looking at the submissions for other logos. Any questions please let us know.
Just our way of saying thanks for the effort.
Now on to our Logo brief for sssticker.com
Deliverable will be an Adobe Illustrator file, with all fonts specified and furnished or outlined.
At your option you may leave off the .com portion of the name although most likely it should be there??
A design that makes it easy to remember the unusual spelling would be a plus.
We would prefer a conceptual design please see http://blog.99designs.com/2011/06/1…paper-art/
Perhaps involving the peeling or application aspect of stickers, but don't limit yourself to that idea.
The logo should work as a single color (black & white) design for some applications and should "read" when reduced to a small size.
Although we use some of the most cutting edge digital printing presses available today as well as traditional screen printing methods. Our roots are in silk screen printing which for the most part means solid Pantone spot colors, with no tints or gradations.
With that in mind, we would prefer a logo that uses 4 or less spot colors without blends or gradations. However if you have a great idea that requires gradations we are open to it.
As mentioned above, a design with four graphic elements in each of the CMYK colors is a pretty worn out idea for printing companies. If you want to go there, it had better be good.
Lastly the design should be simple enough that it could be made into a contour cut (die cut) sticker without requiring a convoluted die line. (ie lots of floating bits that have to be included) This does not mean it must fit into a round corner rectangle either, some complexity to the cutline is fine.
We anticipate our demographic will be preteen to young adult, most likely male, but it must still appeal to male and female marketers or brand managers at ski, snow, skate, apparel or beverage companies etc.
Stickers are fun, playful, colorful and funny, they represent, identify, express; we hope your designs will capture some of that spirit.
Thank you for participating!
