**UPDATE 31MAY2011** Thank you for your entries. The contest is in its last 6 hours. I have just attached a photograph of the adirondack chair which shows the style and shadowing that I would like the logo to achieve. If possible, please cut and paste this chair and shadows to your logo concepts and color it white. I like the details of the shading and elements like the screw holes. Thank you! David
**UPDATE** 26MAY2011 CONTEST IS NOW GUARANTEED. Thank you for all of your ideas and contributions. I have attached a sketch that I have put together based on everyone's contributions. This should hyper-focus your efforts and save you time. I want to change the color scheme away from burgundy, but the Adirondack chair and vertical (or square) logo orientation requirement remain the same.
COLORS: periwinkle blue, leaf green, black, white, deep purple. Think "Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream" logo. On a white background. I love the adirondack chair (with cat-tails behind it?) and would like to incorporate the chair and a small dragonfly. Dark blue silhouetted houses, condos or farms (small windmill?) under trees behind the chair in the distance.
FONT: The FLEET STREET attachment is an example of a font I like. The company name does not have to be in all caps. Company name font shoud be approachable but mature, not whimsical. Slogan and the word "Realtors" could be in a handwritten font something like this: http://www.fonts2u.com/hannibal-lecter.font. Suggestions for company name font might be Dauphin http://www.fonts101.com/fonts/view/…ormal.aspx or Cheltenham http://new.myfonts.com/fonts/bitstr…nham/fonts. Yep. Cheltenham Bold Condensed caputures good feel. Open to your interpretation of the right font here to fit "The Dream Home Company"
FEEL: Think "upscale summer lake living" conveyed in the feel of the logo. I like a vertical rectangle orientation to the logo, but am also open. My current logo feels too formal and I need to throw out my old fleur-de-lis image because it doesn't communicate the approachable image that I need for the new logo to convey.
SLOGAN: "Introducing Neighbors Every Day".
Thinking about changing the brown strip to a dark purple ribbon and placing the web address inside it while moving "Realtors" down to the far bottom of the logo in a handwritten script to match the slogan up top.
One of the biggest problems with the current logo is that our name is "The Dream Home Company" and people always ask if we are with "The Dream Home" because the word "company" has been downplayed in the old logo.
Demographics of my clients are $150K to $700K (mid range to upscale) home buyers between 25-45 years old with incomes of around $50K to $200K annually. Weighted slightly more toward females than males. Some are first timers but about half have already owned a home in the past. The logo needs a boutique feel.
The best rendering of an Adirondack chair so far is #8 submitted by Legues. The POV on the chair would be if you were a toddler approaching a much larger Adirondack chair, not a tall adult looking down on one. Chair should angle off at 30 to 45 degrees from center to make it feel casual. Probably facing out to the right of the logo.
**Please don't be afraid to stretch the rules above if you have a really cool idea. I will award creativity if it stays within the general parameters.
