We are a small design and consulting firm with over 20 years of experience in the electric, building-industrial, facility management, start-up and service industries. In these industries, we have expertise in user research, innovation, design thinking, technology and service design. We are passionate about helping people and companies who help their customers, whether that is the technician repairing an air-conditioner or a customer service representative. We want a logo that captures the creativity, joy and curiosity we bring to our clients and would love to see creative/abstract approaches to this. We want a feel where modern meets organic/vintage and would like to see colors that are brighter/vivid to accomplish this. We want more examples of lowercase and uppercase mixed and more rounded fonts. The services we offer include qualitative and quantitative user research, design, user-testing, innovation training, coaching, and workshop facilitation. Our clients include both fortune 500 companies and mission-driven non-profits and organizations. We are made up of individuals that are passionate about improving the world. We are creative, curious, and scrappy, but professional. We approach our work with authenticity, humility and a deep desire to understand the people and technology around us and our customers.

Our Name The full name of the company is Helios Design and Consulting, but the emphasis for logo design should be on “Helios” or “Helios Design” with “Design” or “Design and Consulting” as secondary/tertiary elements/a simple type in the overall logo. We chose the name Helios as a nod to our Greek heritage and for his role as the sun god or titan. Helios brings the light to each new day, providing energy and thus, life. Design Style We are drawn to modern, simple but clever designs and have some inspiration and colors below. We want to communicate professional seriousness but also play, joy, understanding, passionate, and creative. We would like to see logos that can be used in a ‘long form’ horizontal and shorter form in a square or vertical format for use when less space is available, i.e. icon vs. Icon + full logo or name. Inspiration Below are some images and logos that we like and I’d like to note that we do not want a literal sun in the logo Colors We are drawn to Yellows, Greens and lighter blues(not all navy!) and need colors that work well in a logo as well as deck designs. In the attached, are some color schemes that were appealing but we are open to better suggestions for Logo design.
