The main thing I'm going for with The Happening Gallery is to NOT make it a snobby gallery. Although prices will reflect professional artists I want this to be an accessible, unintimidating place.

70,000 cars a day pass the location where the gallery will open so as far as a target audience it's anyone who likes art or tourists looking for a souvenir
The gallery is very close to the Pacific ocean and on the border of Venice (in case that helps with the 'vibe')
We're looking to do (surprise surprise) 'happenings'... art fairs on the sidewalk, acoustic guitar night, maybe comedy, so that it could become a destination for people to go to
The logo should give corporate buyers enough confidence to know we're a professional company, but also be fun enough to be a breath of fresh air in the world of snooty art galleries.
The main part of the logo will say The Happening Gallery but some of the signage may read:

Marina del Rey
(... or possibly, The Happening gallery by Natalie Gray with the emphasis on the gallery name)
You are the logo experts, follow your instincts! I've been very impressed with the designers I've seen on 99designs so I'm excited to see what you guys can do!
I have uploaded a pic of the building where the logo will go and the rooftop sign that awaits the logo !
