TO THE FINALISTS:
Firstly thank you sincerely for your help so far. Attached is an updated file with further inspo following the contest.
The goal is still to have a logo which is SIMPLE and reflects QUALITY. Or at least, something which indicates you are going to find a tradie you will LOVE.
In terms of overall web styling, I have two concepts in mind (as attached):
I wonder if we can get a logo which would suit either?
A genuine thanks again for taking the time to help me. Nice to know we are almost there!
Best wishes, Barb.
[Original brief as follows]:
I'm hoping for a logo which reflects simplicity and quality. If possible, perhaps we could also incorporate an endorsement / tick-of-approval element to reflect the customer review nature of the site. Whether it be vintage, cutting edge, classic or cool... I'm open to all possibilities at this stage. A bonus would be if we could incorporate a symbol which can be woven throughout the branding and site (eg speech bubble, spanner etc though not sure if these have been overused?).
What would catch your attention if you needed a painter? An electrician? A doggy-door installer? An architect?
What matters most to the target market is a site which is simple and makes it easy to find quality tradies - ie tradies who have attention to detail and get the job done right. Of secondary importance is price and reliability.
Some very different potential campaigns I thought of: (1) Vintage - ie Beautiful weathered tools belying the skilled artisans who have used them for generations to produce quality work and products. (2) A throwback to 1980s tradies - think stereotypical 'men at work' in hard hats and worker boots. (3) Simple 'hello tradie' speech bubble with or without a symbolic tool or tick of approval incorporated into it.
It would be great to see the logo both with and without the tagline. I have attached two slides with some inspo and further background and have a pinterest board at: https://www.pinterest.com/babs_cole…llotradie/
...Over to you! I'm looking forward to seeing what emerges. Once the logo is locked down, I'm keen to partner with a designer to help style the entire website. So there is the possibility of more work for those with web design experience. Thanks for helping me out on this project. I appreciate your time and design flair. Barb.
