The National Association of Amateur Mixed Martial Arts (NAAMMA) is the first and only organization providing a systemized approach to the teaching of mixed martial arts (MMA) for gyms across the United States. Recognizing a glaring need for greater standardization in the sport of MMA, particularly where children are involved, the founders of NAAMMA, in conjunction with an advisory council (comprised of top gym owners, instructors, fighters, medical professionals and sanctioning officials) will create a curriculum of guidelines for teaching and skill rank achievement, as well as local and national competitions in MMA. The purpose of NAMMA is to further the sport of MMA by legitimizing it as a martial art form which is organized and safe for all levels and all ages of amateur competitors.

The "feel" of all the graphic elements should be somewhat military in nature (think camo, red white and blue, and other military symbols). The terminology we are using to refer to different levels of achievement is based on the Army system of ranks so contiuing that sort of look and feel makes sense. That said, we will be working with a lot of kids and we don't want it to feel like we're just copying military emblems etc. either. We also want to be sure not to do anything that looks to much like the UFC logo etc., but it might be good to google MMA and get a feel for the sport if you're not familiar with it (this is NOT Takekwondo or karate so no Asian elements please). While we want to maintain the "toughness" of this sport and set it apart from traditional martial arts, we need to keep in mind that we are targeting kids and their parents as well as 18-25 year old males.
Demographics: ages 5-25 (vast majority male)
