The attached shield, though not a high-resolution copy and thus would need to be updated, is the basis for the design. This shield is our logo and would be a prominent feature of the logo design. I like the color of the file shield.jpg but the correct use of color is on shield2.jpg where the mountain (triangle) is brown and the upper tort ions are while with contrasting brown stars. The resulting product will be used in a website (now under development - though without graphical treatment - see beta: http://www.carmelites.net/wp) as well as for stationary and other multimedia designs.
The resulting design should be clean, conveying the power of a 800 year old tradition that is thoroughly contemporary and modern. The text for the logo will read: "Order of Carmelites," with the emphasis being placed upon the word Carmelites and less on words "order of."
Our religious habit (clothing) is a brown tunic with a white cloak and thus would like to brand the logo with these two colors being primary. I prefer a brown that is more akin to the dark brown in the current shield and to our habit, but designers should feel free to incorporate shades of brown/white and or a minimal accent color of a lighter blue or green.
The included shield is the standard "look" While we are happy with the simplicity and cleanness of the current design, designers should also feel free to change the design to appear more modern, simple and clean. The basic elements are that it is a shield that contains the brown triangle and the three stars (read more here: http://www.carmelites.net/tradition…sion.html).
