Our biggest challenge with our current brand (logos, website & content) is that they appear to lack authority and trust. As we grow and relaunch, we will become more of a thought-leader on all things bats and gloves. Our logo should reflect this position.
Descriptive terms - as you design, consider these terms for inspiration, which we feel will describe our new website(s) and brand:
Reference brands - When thinking about our theme and target audience, consider that we are not just for youth baseball players, but much of our visitors in the past have been and will continue to be parents and family of baseball players.
Knowing that, here are a few websites (and therefore brands/logos) that you could receive motivation from:
Targeting similar audiences:
http://mlb.mlb.com/home (of course :) -- and the team logos/sites
And consider sports publishers, too, like:
And specific baseball bat/glove companies:
Logos must include the full domain names.
Logos will be used in social media. This means that you need to make a logo that could be used as a social media profile/avatar pic (Facebook, Twitter), or include a thumbnail/avatar version of the logo.
A few guidelines:
Clean slate! - Don’t base your designs off of the current designs; start from scratch and enjoy! Make it a proud portfolio piece of yours!
Unique but connected - Each site’s logo (bats and gloves) should be similar enough to show a connection, but don’t necessarily have to mirror each other exactly.
