There are a few key visual elements that are associated with the Charleston, SC geographic area and 'could' be incorporated into the design. NOT REQUIRED but WELCOMED. Feel free to submit a 'type' treatment only as well.
I've uploaded our temporary logo. It's simple but may help with some direction.
Please stay away from 'rooflines / roof angles', images of houses. Logo needs to be elegant, classly and high end looking... not your everyday real estate company on the corner. :)
“Charleston” is perceived to be the dominant word
Visual Elements that would work well (search google for these elements in Charleston, SC and you'll find some great examples) :
- ironwork (wrought iron)
- horticulture (flowers, gardens, parks)
- architecture (church steeples, porches, bridge)
- water (rivers and creeks)
Traditional - although a well-thought out color accent might be acceptable
Current temporary version of logo uses Baskerville Old Face. Client likes using traditional serif typefaces
Needs to work for print and online, color and black & white/grayscale
Brand Traits to keep in mind:
-traditional and classic, but not old-fashioned or stodgy
-hospitable and friendly, welcoming
-sense of Charleston heritage
-Rooted in tradition, but modern and relevant
-traditional with a "twist"
-respectful of nature and the environment
-clean, fresh and uncluttered
-coastal, but not "beachy"
Preferred file type is .ai and .psd
