Project Mojave
I curse a lot.
Project Mojave (PM) is a monthly membership website aimed at (and marketed to) 20 to 35-year-olds seeking an alternative to corporate life. Project Mojave started in February 2009 and officially launched in May to a list of roughly 800 people (approximately 200 members joined from that list). Project Mojave's tagline is "Create a 'Freedom Business' in 3 Months"; this tagline is also our unique selling proposition (USP). (I define a "Freedom Business," as a business that has no accounts receivable, requires little capital investment, has an automated sales process, and has a high probability of success in a short period of time).
I'm proud of the fact that for every month someone is a member of Project Mojave, we pay for a month of schooling for one freed slave in Africa (including books, teachers, room and board). In one of our banner ads we say "You get Freedom Education, THEY Get Freedom Education.
I'm also excited about the first annual Project Mojave conference (called "Burning Cube," which will be a 3-day camping trip held in Joshua Tree National Park (located in the Mojave Desert). The conference is a kind of “Burning Man for the Lifestyle Design Community.” During the first night of the conference we’re going to ceremoniously burn a wooden cubicle, cheer, and talk about our dreams.
Smart, educated, 20 to 35-year-olds seeking an alternative to corporate life. They want to be rebellious AND respected.
The logo should say "Project Mojave" . . . the subtitle or slogan should be "Create a Freedom Business in 3 Months"
The logo should have some kind of symbol that goes along with it. The symbol should NOT be of a business nature and it should not be dollar signs or anything related to money.
To see our current blog header (which we WILL change after our new identity has been created) go to http://ProjectMojaveSite.com/blog
The graphic needs to be edgy & perhaps grungy enough to make the members feel like they're part of a rebellious social movement.
I like the use of texture in logos.
But it also needs to be elegant and professional enough to justify the HIGH price tag for what I'm selling. (The look and feel of the logo needs to be consistent with a very high priced product). Nothing in the logo can look "cheap."
It should also be mentioned that "Mojave" is a desert in california. That said, the logo does not need to incorporate desert elements.
I will want to use rich yellows and dark reds in my eventual website, that said yellow or red do not need to be in the logo, but the colors do need to work with yellow and red.
"Tan" or "sand" is a also a good color.
I'd like the logo to be gritty & web 2.0 . . . I like the use of texture on some of the images here (to convey gritty):

I also like these images:

http://www.istockphoto.com/stock-il…ictory.php
http://www.istockphoto.com/stock-ph…d-fist.php
That said, I do NOT want a fist in the logo. I also DO NOT want militaristic imagery used in the logo.
