Clients are typically well educated professionals aged 35-60, buried in what they consider a unique and complex situation, usually made worse by some underlying dysfunctional team communications or team behaviours. Many are jaded or wary of consultants, having experienced facilitated strategic planning workshops that don't address the elephant in the room issues, don't engage all participants and don't lead to action.
My sales are typically made directly with a CEO, following word of mouth referals or a personal meeting.
My engagement style, my 20 years of CEO/President level experience in a range of companies, (I am 50) and my ability to help the group distill and focus on key issues, supported by interactive mind mapping software that visually creates a documented one page plan participants leave the workshop with, is what makes my service unique.
Typically the one plan produced from the workshop will distill 'Why are we here, what do we want to create and how do we get there?'. Half my clients use me in followup mentoring or further workshopping role.
My slogan I use is 'Facilitation. Strategy. Mentoring'. I'm in two minds about my business name - Joe Flynn or Joe Flynn and Associates?
I want the brand to work for me as an author and conference speaker, areas of my business I am developing, where I will be known for my positive and honest voice on how we can respond to climate change by creating jobs AND at the same time creating a more healthy planet. It isn't either or.
