Create a logo or logotype along with an associated favicon and newsletter header for the rebranding of WikPik. The logo will be used mostly online, but needs to be appropriate for occasional print use.
ViewGuide is driven by its members, who are encouraged to rate, review and list movies and shows. Direct links to On Demand providers are going to be added to ViewGuide, allowing people to click directly from ViewGuide to a recommended movie/show.
The logo needn’t be a strict logotype, but it must incorporate the words View and Guide. The .com of ViewGuide.com shouldn’t be part of the logo.
The new logo needn’t be in white, as the current one is. Nor does it need to incorporate searchlights, as the current one does. However, the use of searchlights is not unwelcome.
The V and G initials of the two words that make up the name are visually interesting letters and should probably be emphasized.
“View” and “Guide” are relatively long words, totalling nine letters between them. Thus it might be best to stack or partially stack them atop one another so the logo isn’t too long.
Something strong and simple will be most appreciated for this logo, especially given the strength and simplicity of the two syllables: View and Guide.
The following are adjectives the logo should support: Clean, Bright, Fresh, Modern, Simple, Helpful, Entertaining.
The primary use is in the header of the site itself. Here it will be used with the words “TV & Movies” or “Movies & TV” or perhaps “TV & Movie Guide” next to it, in similar fashion to how the current WikPik header has the tag line “Perfect Movie Recommendations” next to it. (Perfect Movie Recommendations is being at least temporarily retired.)
The logo needs to work on the existing blue background. See the first Branding Guideline.
Also need an associated Favicon to replace the current W favicon. It must strongly suggest the full ViewGuide logo. Perhaps it should incorporate the V and G.
