The estate has been called fern cliff for 150 years, as it is surrounded by field of Ferns (the plant), and the shoreline and terrain has a number of rocky cliffs into lake Massiwipi (quebec, canada). The property includes the main houses and a number of guest houses in the residential section (15 acres), forested areas with a small river running through it (50 acres)and then also may include an adjacent farm that is another 350 acres of animal pastures and fields for crops.
The logo (and other projects - website, identity package, etc) is meant to brand our estate, and develop materials and a presence for the numerous guests that visit, for our own family, and then ultimately for the farming project that will sustainably raise organic heritage produce, animals and value added food products.
The natural beauty and tranquility of the area and the property is a key feature of the estate and all parts of the project. With the residential part of the estate is a luxury get away for friends and family (tennis, swimming, beaches, boating, gardens, hiking & walking), etc. The farming portion represents a commitment to sustainable farming of heritage vegetable and animals, working closely with the community and the environment.
The project and feel should be part luxury hotel resort, part eco-farm, and most of all simplicity, nature and tranquility.
Again the primary purpose is the branding of the family estate for our family and friends as opposed to a commercial venture.
Please take a look at the attached pictures. The first is a print done in 1870 of the estate as it was. The next 040.jpg is of the main house and property (goes back to the fields on the horizon) the others are a variety of other pictures of the estate, many in the autumn. Hopefully it helps you get a feel for the property and feel of area.
