Tribal Sportswear launches it’s “Heart for Art” initiative for 2012 to support art programs in middle schools. Heart for Art was created to engage our retail partners and the local communities by supporting and strengthening creativity in the visual and performing art department.
Over the past several years, many Americans, students have been feeling the effects of the economic recession. With the shrinking of state and local education budgets the fine art programs are vulnerable to cuts partly due because children and not tested in music or art under No Child Left Behind law. On average teachers donate $500 annually of their own money to purchase classroom supplies.
Tribal believes that an interest for fashion design is inspired from creativity in school. This is what drives “Heart for Art” founders to share their message and help school programs in need. Tribal will be reaching out to boutiques nationwide to partner with and support the “Heart for Art” campaign. Starting in 2012, Tribal will be looking to roll out a series of event with select retail partners. Tribal and the retail store will select a local school to award funding and allow the school to nominate the appropriate teacher. Tribal will host an invite only event at the retail store to honor the teacher and invite the local community, school supporters, mother of children attending the school and faculty. Tribal will award the nominated teacher a plaque and $250 gift card to a school supply provider. Tribal will also be giving away a Tribal look to one of the lucky customers attending.
