We are looking for something hipster and gender-neutral (perhaps even something on the more masculine end of the scale) that can be stamped on coffee cups and other packaging as well as used across the branding more widely, including on t-shirts and our website.
No images of coffee cups, coffee beans or coffee plants, please. The food at Herst carries just as much weight as the coffee, if not more.
We feel that the brand would be best represented by a logo that is hand drawn or line drawn, a badge logo, a monoline logo or a logo that generally feels more natural and organic. It is likely that the logo will be printed in black onto a kraft brown/light brown or neutral background. We like textured, flecked or speckled fonts and backgrounds.
We are looking to launch Herst in Luxembourg City. Nearly 35% of the territory in Luxembourg is forest which is immediately obvious when you fly into Luxembourg airport. Herst (as well as being the founder's surname) means a small wooded hillock or grove of trees. If there were to be any imagery in the logo, it feels natural that the logo should incorporate forest imagery in some form, although we are not wedded to having a 'picture' as such (and no woodland animals, please!).
