We doen't need another church. We need a different kind of church. Matthew’s Party is a faith and social hub where nonreligious people can gather in an upbeat, un-wierd environment to explore the life-giving message that God cares for them. We create environments to move us from simply having information about God to growing in relationship with God and with one another. We look to find our place in God’s story, grow as a family (mess and all), and participate in his work. (We don’t just get together as a church to feed our self-interests and personal desires.) Matthew's Party is a life enriching gathering for people in process; a place where imperfect everyday people, the curious, skeptical, unconvinced, the burned out, beat-up, and broken, as well as the committed, informed, and sold-out come together, connect in significant relationships, and thoughtfully consider Peter’s declaration that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. This is a place where all people are welcome.

Our MISSION ...is to enrich lives by leading people in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ
Our VISION ...is to create churches nonreligious people love to be a part of
Our STRATEGY ...is to connect people in significant relationships by creating environments which inspire, encourage, and equip a growing faith, intimacy with God, community with one another, and influence beyond our gathering
Our GOAL ...is to lead people from having information about God to growing an intimate and life transforming relationship with God
Our MANTRA ...sharing life. growing faith.
Our vision, mission, strategy, and goal are based on three teachings of Jesus:
“Passing along, Jesus saw a man at his work collecting taxes. His name was Matthew. Jesus said, "Come along with me." Matthew stood up and followed him. Later when Jesus was eating supper at Matthew's house with his close followers, a lot of disreputable characters came and joined them. When the Pharisees saw him keeping this kind of company, they had a fit, and lit into Jesus' followers. "What kind of example is this from your Teacher, acting cozy with crooks and riffraff?" Jesus, overhearing, shot back, "Who needs a doctor: the healthy or the sick? Go figure out what this Scripture means: 'I'm after mercy, not religion.' I'm here to invite outsiders, not coddle insiders." (Matthew 9:9-13)
“Jesus said, "'Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.' This is the most important, the first on any list. But there is a second to set alongside it: 'Love others as well as you love yourself.' These two commands are pegs; everything in God's Law and the Prophets hangs from them." (Matthew 22:37-40)
Jesus, undeterred, went right ahead and gave his charge: "God authorized and commanded me to commission you: Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I'll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:18-20)
Like you, we are simply real people looking for real answers to life's challenges, joys, tragedies, etc. We want to learn how to live life well. We want to be great at something. We want meaningful friendships, passionate love lives, happy and healthy families. We want to make wise decisions, have some money in the bank, and have a sense of purpose and significance. We also want to know if there's more to this life than what meets the eye.
We all have a story. No matter where we are in our journey today, chances are we've blown it somewhere, with someone, somehow... and we wonder if things can be made right in this life and beyond.
Maybe you believe in God. Maybe you don't. Maybe you're unsure because you've had a bad experience with a church or with someone involved with a church. Maybe you think all Christians are just hypocrites. Guess what? You're right! No one is perfect. Maybe this is why you don't believe or have mostly, if not completely, given up on God, Jesus, and church.
Here's the thing - God will never, ever, ever, ever, EVER give up on you! God longs for you to move from knowing something about him to really getting to know him. It's in this relationship with God, made possible through faith in Jesus Christ, that we've discovered and experience real life transformation in our journeys. It's also where we're building fun, meaningful relationships while discovering the very purposes God created us for. Our imperfect lives are being enriched by God's truth and grace every day in tangible ways and we are making a difference in the lives of others every day too. This is the WHY we believe in creating Matthew's Party.
Life is hard but God is good. You're invited to the party; a place where imperfect everyday people, the curious, skeptical, unconvinced, the burned out, beat-up, and broken, as well as the committed, informed, and sold-out come together, connect in significant relationships, and thoughtfully consider who this Jesus was, is, and what that means to you today and the days to come. This is a place where all people are welcome.
