POM (in full “POM Kitchen Accessories”) is a new store banner selling fancy and modern kitchen utensils at low prices in Belgium. Our concept aims to combine (i) a wide product offering, (ii) in convenient discount stores and (iii) with a great shopping experience.
The target audience is young and modern people living in city centers and looking for good deals (good quality/acceptable price).
In French, “pomme” means apple, which is (indirectly) referring to food and kitchen. Besides, many modern utensils are green (e.g.: silicon accessories). The apple is also a fruit used to represent utensils brands as Mastrad (well-known brand in Europe).

I've attached a quick draft I've made myself. However, the comments I got from friends were mitigated. Some people didn't like the font type used and others thought the apple looked like if it came from a clip art gallery...
* “Kitchen Accessories” could for example be written in a smaller font size below the word POM
* If an apple is represented in the logo (doesn’t necessarily need to be the case), we should make sure there is absolutely no confusion with the Apple logo (e.g. let’s not put a leaf, and if there is a stem, let’s have it oriented towards the left)
* FYI: the font type used for the logo should be reusable for the catch phrase “The cooking experience”
