Our company name is 'pro Active Media Labs' aka proAM Labs, not to be confused by Active.com or the Active Network. We provide online tools for sourcing, supporting and promoting local events and activities.
I do like the Active logo font though! ;) BUT I also like RETRO looking font, like on the side of a MELLO YELLO can for proAM.
I like the Smithsonian Institution logo as I believe it lends itself well to any background and our new platform/product called localSPARK.
The current logo (which is green with the black outline) may be a good starting point for the hlocalSPARK product, but we're interested in a COMPANY logo here, not the spark, just wanted to give context for future efforts. proAM Labs for this logo!
We may use Metro UI for websites and web apps so this should give an indicator for designers. Also this is all for location-based & social engagement, so the pointers used on maps to indicate location or geo-tagging very effective. I'm also fond of an atlas or nautilus type symbol that indicates, N,S, E, W.. it could also be effective in promoting our idea 'to give direction' or to be local 'navigators.'
We provide organizers social media management and multi-media outlets and support (hence the logo with the Smithsonian TV.) This community, will be a fun and attractive environment you might find interesting at your local college campus. Higher Ed students should be drawn to it and want to buy and wear "the gear" for work and/or personal activities..especially if they're interested in media, events or advertising in general.
That's the best i could do to describe, hope you find this project interesting!
Our local college age affiliates can use our localSPARK network/platform to promote small businesses locally everywhere..
As mentioned, this logo should appeal to Higher Ed students and those right out of college. Ideally, they would want to wear the branding as they would be the ones supporting local events and attractions with their effort and this will give them more clout and should provide proAM Labs more brand awareness and like-ability with local businesses and student workers.
