District Team is a web platform enhancing exchange of knowledge among health district teams within a same country. For the first year, it will focus on two Francophone African countries: Benin and Guinea.
District.team is operated and facilitated by the facilitators of the Community of Practice Health Service Delivery, a network of health experts mainly based in Africa who mainly interact through online discussion fora but organize from time to time face-to-face events. They work on specific questions related to health systems in low-income countries.
District.team will be a platform targeting health district teams (most health systems in Africa are organized into health administrative units called the health districts – a standard health district includes 1 hospital and around 10 health centers and is coordinated by a district team – our target group). The platform will (1) require them to share some data about their districts, (2) give them the opportunity to compare the performance of their respective district (thanks to data visualization) and (3) allow them to share their understanding of the performance patterns.
District team staff are above 30 years old. The average age is probably around 40. They are educated: the district director is a medical doctor; all the other key members of team are literate and their job require them to read and produce reports. Most of them are civil servants. Our target group in Benin and Guinea are Francophone.

We have chosen the name ‘district.team’ because (1) the web domain name was available; (2) these two words work both in French and English
The actual name of the logo may be District Team 2.0. If the logo includes an icon, the latter should probably reflect the following key concept: we are an online community gathering health teams to exchange their knowledge and experience. The logo should be able to accommodate the name of a country as another tagline. It would be great if the logo can accommodate a variation of colors to reflect each country member of the platform. For instance, there is an icon, and we adapt its colours to reflect the national colours of the specific country.
The logo should inspire trust, professionalism and dynamism.
Colors and fonts
We would favor an icon, color and fonts reflecting that:
• We are a community
• We respect each other
• We are transparent
• We are professionals
