My website is at http://thewpdojo.com. I originally put the logo I uploaded to this project on a business card - it consisted of the pagoda, karate figure, and a community-created Wordpress logo.
As for audience, my audience is of all ages. I just came back from WordCamp and I had a 60 year old man and a 20-something woman interested in my website.
The target audience is those who would like to learn to build websites using the WordPress platform. Their goal could to make their websites better for themselves, or they may want to learn to be a web designer. They are generally tech savvy, but new to this facet of computing, so there's an air of mystery that has kept them back from taking the big step into web design.
My goal is to have a logo I can make promotional business cards, t-shirts, other logo-wear, etc. I designed the website myself but I am open to changing it or posting another 99-design project to make a PSD that matches the logo, if the logo is THAT much different than the site... In other words, don't let the current website dictate the logo design - I want a design that can carry me through the years.
Read the About page and watch the intro video on the website if that will give you a "feel" for what I am doing and what I want the logo to reflect.
