The brief calls for a timeless design that doesn't lean too heavily toward the cliched 'start up' design aesthetic. We have a desire to build out the Y as an iconic, easily recognisable symbol of the business (that can exist independently of the business name- Think Facebook 'F", LinkedIn 'In' etc).
As you will note in the extremely rough mock up attached, the Y has the three axis broken up and pointing in an arrow shape at each other. The intent is to create the sense of coming together (content producer, product, brand marketer). The 'fan like' appearance is to create a sense of movement, which, in our context is all about pace, urgency…. being the first. First to know, first to market etc.
Please be aware, this is only a thought starter and we are very open to other interpretations.
Of note is the colour palate used on the current website. The logo will need to work within this colour palate, however it should not inform the design entirely. It is our desire to work with you to create the brand character from scratch via the logo and will later apply this brand design to future iterations of the website.
What to provide:
1. The icon
2. The logo with icon in situ (as the Y). Do not repeat the Y (as is the case in examples like blogger.com with the B)
3. The logo with tag line: "Get it out there"
