Mbhedula Craft Market is a rural business close to the Phinda Nature reserve in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. 15 to 20 Ladies run the market and their target groups are international buyers that visit the numerous safari camps in the Phinda region. The ladies started small with only selling woven baskets, but now their business is flourishing, they don't have to travel to sell their goods anymore, they can stay home and sell from the Craft Market.
The word Mbhedula was the name of a forest many years ago, that use to stand where they sell from now. The women are all from the Zulu tribe. They have struggled a lot to be where they are today,but with a lot of perseverance they are now happy and their families are doing well. They feel that their future is bright,and like "untiba" They are trees bearing fruit, because they hanged on and their hard work is paying of. They are healthy now, wealthy and doing better every day!
