For the very small branded tag on the products (see attached image) we will shorten the name to "Loved". The official name of the brand (and website) is "Loved Baby Care". The logo should work in a small format for the tag, and also in a larger format for the website, facebook page, and product packaging.
We are targeting women, specifically new moms, or other women buying a gift for a new mom. The products themselves will be gender neutral, and I'd like to stay away from the stereotypical pink/blue baby colors.
In the future, we may also sell pet care products to the same target audience, and have purchased the domain lovedpetcare.com as well. The first logo we need is Loved Baby Care, but it should also work for our sister brand for pet care in the future.
I was thinking that a wordmark with "Loved" as the focus, then Baby Care underneath or beside it would allow us to 1) shorten the brand name to 'Loved" on the product tags and 2) be flexible to extend to pet care at some point in the future. See attached rough mock-up to communicate my point (I am NOT a designer, this is why I need YOU!)
We'll need to develop a design for packaging at some point in the future (see attached image of plastic case). Again, I'd like to avoid the stereotypical pink/blue colors when we design the packaging. I prefer gender neutral colors like red, orange, grey, purple, etc. This first job is just for the logo, but I'd thought you'd appreciate understanding my entire vision for the product line.
UPDATE as of August 8th: The logo should convey the emotion and feeling of love between mother and baby. This should be reflected in the fonts as well as the graphic. The logo (or at least the wordmark) must be clearly legible on a small rectangular woven tag that will be sewn into the pillow. See the attached image file dated August 8th for 2 samples. Thanks.
