NEW UPDATE: 11-20-2010: I am posting this new after getting feedback but I have left the original requirements below for your refference:
I have been getting a ton of feedback on this logo. You have done an AMAZING job with my initial design brief. In fact, you came close to hitting the nail right on the head but based on feedback I have been receiving, we need to change things a bit.
People don’t like the tagline and I get comments that we are trying to cram too much into the logo and tagline. I also have spoken with my printer / product manufacturing and they tell me the logo MUST be able to be embroidered, embossed, engraved and easily screen printed to use on all of our products.
This leaves out gradients or 3D style logos UNLESS… We have a gradient version, a black & white version and a solid color version.
OK. Here is the revision that makes this more simple but will require some thinking on your part. I want you to just think “BALANCE” instead of balancing science and nature. PONDERA means BA:ANCE. That is really what this company is about. Helping people balance everything in their life beginning with their health, then on to their wealth & finances, then onto their happiness (Mind, body spirit… But we don’t want to appear that cosmic if you know what I mean.)
So please just think BALANCE as you relook at your revision. I want to try this with no tagline. I still want the “P” to be important but I want the logo to convey balance in all areas of their life rather than balance of science and nature.
I don’t want to use the Yin/Yang symbol but I would love to re-invent it somehow with “Pondera”. Because that is kind of what we are after. A logo that embodies the idea of “Balance” in all things.
(Original Requirements)We would love an ICON that could be recognized with or without the entire company name next to it.
It must convey the message of Balancing Science and Nature. A "Balance" between Science and nature that results in more vitality or healthier living.
We don't want it cartoon like. We are looking for something contemporary that we can use everywhere in our company. We do not have a color pallet yet so you can be creative.
It seems like the easy way out is a leaf or plant coming out of a test tube or something like that. We would like to see something a little more outside of the obvious. I think you can get really creative with this one.
Some things I like but do not convey our message:
The problem with all of the above examples is that the lean totally towards nature and not more life and vitality through the balance of science and nature. I am excited to see your take on it and see what you come up with. The winner will have opportunities to work on additional graphics for the company.
