Martin Luther King once said, “It is not enough for me to stand before you tonight and condemn riots. It would be morally irresponsible for me to do that without, at the same time, condemning the contingent, intolerable conditions that exist in our society. These conditions are the things that cause individuals to feel that they have no other alternative than to engage in violent rebellions to get attention, and I must say tonight that a riot is the language of the unheard.” GoProtagonist.com is my best attempt at giving the unheard masses a voice, in the hopes that it will curb some of the violence we see around the world. In the simplest terms, GoProtagonist will provide GoPro cameras and prepaid cellphones to the parts of the world that most need to be heard, yet the media has failed to give them a platform. The website will be a forum for these oppressed, poverty stricken people to document their struggles without commentary or agenda. It will also provide the public a way to act on the videos they see, whether that is giving donation or bombarding their local government with letters. Public awareness is one of the most important factors in ending the atrocities that still go on daily. The logo will be essential to the effort, because it will need to be something people can rally behind. To do this, it will have to be something meaningful. Obviously, I will leave it up to your discretion, but I thought I might like to represent the idea that the previously unheard person now will be seen and heard by many.
