This is a re-do of an existing logo. San Juan Mountain Mustard has been around since the 90's. They are now under the umbrella of Durango Artisan Foods (http://www.durangoartisanfoods.com) SJMM makes mustard and marinades. The new logo needs to tie back to the original somehow and we want to keep the ability to have a variety of colors for each flavor. We have a customer base already so something about the logo needs to be recognizably tied to the previous logo. Would really like the logo to be simpler than it was.

This is the umbrella company that SJMM is under. The new logo does NOT need this in it, but it gives you an idea of our style.

Having Durango, Colorado in the logo somewhere would be good but not mandatory. The existing logo we think looks dated. The hand sketched mountain, shrubbery, and mustard plant all look bad. Needs to be simplified.
Popular peaks in the San Juan Mountains that could be incorporated in the design include Engineer peak (near Durango, Colorado) or Needles Mountains. We're going to simplify the product names. Just the name in the larger font. (i.e. "Cherry Habanero" instead of "Hermosa Cliffs Cherry Habanero").
