**What is our organization and what does it do?**
The Mountain Education Alliance is a cooperative partnership of four of the oldest and largest volunteer-based mountaineering and climbing non-profit organizations. Our collective goal is to improve the quality and consistency of recreational mountain sports education in the United States.
Each of our organizations has over 100 years of history. While our individual organizations take pride in their longevity and storied traditions, the partnership of the Mountain Education Alliance is to do work that is cutting edge, modern, and progressive. We want our brand to reflect this.
**What is our product and what does it do?**
The Mountain Educations Alliances primary focus is on a program called "Mountain LEAD (Leadership Education and Development)". The Mountain LEAD program is designed to improve the quality and consistency of recreational mountain sports education in the United States through the creation of national standards and training programs for volunteer leaders and instructors.
**Who is the target audience?**
Our target audience are active adults who have a genuine interest providing formal mentorship, leadership and instruction to the recreational mountain sports community. This audience may include current members of one of the four Mountain Education Alliance partners, part of a university outdoor program, other US based outdoor recreational organizations and university , or the thousands of recreational climbers, mountaineers, skiers, and canyoners looking to learn and grow in their activities.
