The name is a take off of the word stalemate. When you fish you always want the strongest fish with the lightest or equally matched tackle. This season we caught a 600lb thresher shark and fought it for 4 hours untimately resulting in a stalemate. As we couldnt get him on the boat and the tackle could do no more nor could the fishermen we were basically stuck. Ultimately the rod snapped in 2 places and the shark swam away resulting in what we will call a TailMate.
I would like the wording to incorporate fish tails in the design. Take a look at the tail of a thresher shark, Tuna, Mahi, generally all offshore species. If you go to release marine, aftco tackle, blue zoo aquatics, yellowfin boats I love the simplicity of the outlines they use in their logos. See attached for their logos to use (only) as reference.
In this design if a letter could be a fish eye and shapes incorporate fins and silhouettes that would hit the mark. This fish ultimately resulted in purchasing a new much larger boat and created the need for a name / logo. This is not a commercial boat but a high end recreational offshore fishing boat.
The hull color will be light grey with a light blue stipe at the water line, engines white, and interior mostly white. If you go to regulator marine and select the regulator 41 this is the boat that is getting built for this design (see: http://www.regulatormarine.com/#/fl…41#gallery for info and images of the specific boat).
