Open Hearth Farm is a diversified family farm. Our main focus is selling pastured chickens directly to consumers via online sales and sales at farmers' markets on the East Coast. We will also sell to local restaurants who are interested in organically raised chickens.
Our long term goals include having a restaurant collaboration with our farm. The restaurant will also have the name Open Hearth. This restaurant will have a large open hearth at its center and serve foods which are cooked using open hearth cooking techniques. We decided on this name because we felt people from all over could connect with the idea of eating our delicious farm fresh meats and vegetables around an open fire and warm hearth as our predecessors once did.

It is important to us that our logo is sophisticated, elegant, and simple. We want to communicate to our customers that we sell chickens first and foremost but we love the idea of incorporating fire and its qualities to give a nod to our farm name. Words that come to mind when we think of an open hearth include strength, power, warmth, movement, illumination, burning, scorching.
We were thinking a chicken somehow incorporated with a flame, but are open to different interpretations as well.
We also want our logo to eventually be built into a wrought iron ranch sign out in Colorado so it needs to imbue a certain hardiness that's common in ranches out west.
