4C Investment Partners (“4C”) is a global alternative investment management firm with a mandate to invest across energy transition value chain, with a particular focus on companies that provide services, technologies and natural resources that support de-carbonisation goals and a transition to a clean and electrified economy, away from fossil fuels.
Global mandate, investing in credit / equity opportunities. Target audience will primarily be investors, professional services (corporate lawyers, investment banks, research analysts, financial institutions, corporates, other Investment Funds...).
The logo should, accordingly, be in line and in a similar professional, 'corporate character' vs other funds / Asset managers.
Logo should be around four "C"s concept - please note we do NOT want the number "4" featuring on the logo. Think of geometries, patterns and ways these can be combined to make a powerful statement whilst keeping the corporate charter of an Investment Fund. The "4C" should feature in the text along with 'Investment Partners'. We also prefer the text to be on the right hand side next to the logo vs below logo.
If at all possible, the logo should have the ability to stand on its on with the graphic only (and no text) - this is if we include it on a presentation or a letterhead. We will of course have the full logo with text but it's important to note this. Hence why the four letter C's is important to be salient on the logo design and incorporated in a clever, unique and innovative way.
- Prefer no sharp ends and rather round edges.
- The logo needs to have a symbolism and resemblance to what we do; 'earth' is a clear symbol (hence our insistence with spherical / roundness...): we are a fund investing in decarbonisation technologies and commodities that will have a global impact.
Four C's “Mood Board”
Commodity – Earth, natural resources, metals, energy transition
Capital – investment, growth, profit, positive change
Climate – life, green, environment,
Change – circular economy, social transformation, prosperity
We are looking for a logo that is powerful, sleek, smart, original, simple (to some extent) and something that would convey the four C’s concept in a clever way - put simply, we want to make a lasting impression from the moment a third party sees our logo.
We are open minded to consider different suggestions and concepts from designers. Don’t think we want a logo that is overly-excessively abstract or not in line with the general industry norms. Stylistically speaking, I think we would prefer something sophisticated and minimal, yet clever and powerful which will instigate curiosity to learn more about the four Cs.
We believe the logo should be around the “four C’s” concept and could incorporate 'Investment Partners' on the side / below / otherwise. Another important feature is the nature of our global mandate - and the global challenge of moving away from fossil fuels into a carbon-netutral economy. Indeed the concept of ‘circular economy’ should be considered and taken into account when designers explore concepts; rounded and circular logos could be an option to capture this concept.
We can consider specific tailored fonts on the letters that could add an additional layer of sophistication and avoid being too ‘dry / dull’ (for example, when an ‘A’ is shown as an inverted ‘V’; this is just an example of what we mean and by any means not a specific requirement! Hopefully you get the idea...). We envision that the logo colours will be blue and white (background in blue or white; may need to consider two versions of the same logo but in different background colours. This can be discussed at a later stage in the process once the concept and logo has been agreed with the designer)
We have also chosen a preferred colour pallet (Hex Colour references: Blue 04243A; Green: 3A675F / 71938F; Golden: E1DCBB / E1DDBF) but would happily welcome suggestions from designers. We have also started working on a PowerPoint slide deck template and would be seeking for the selected designer to help us finalise / enhance it by incorporating the corporate colours, branding, logo, font as well as any images for cover pages, design inserts for flow diagrams and charts etc.
Kindly note when specifying ‘Yellow’ colours, it would be more like a 'golden' which goes well with other chosen colours - dark blue (primary) and green. We envision using white letters if background is blue; for white backgrounds on the powerpoint presentation the letter colouring will be black.
We have retained a web developer from Wix and are currently working on a template website too - this will be adapted to incorporate the right logo design, match colours, font etc. but the selected designer would have the opportunity to help us enhance the website, if needed.
We will also need a design for our email signature / business cards that incorporates the logo and other customary information (not only contact details but any regulatory disclaimers etc). We expect the quality and finishing of the business cards to be of the highest quality (standard business card size, high quality paper, embossed, special finishes depending on costs/options...).
We would like to hear back from designers with experience in our industry and with a track record for coming with original, powerful, clever designs as well as giving a professional corporate branding (you don't get a second chance to make a first impression!). We also look forward to establishing a working relationship for any future design / branding / marketing needs we main have.
We have some sketches and ideas in mind for the logo and these could be shared at a later stage of the design process but we wouldn’t want to influence the creative process of the designers and are generally open minded to consider various options. We have uploaded a few logos we have seen to give designers a visual idea but these do not necessarily meet all of our design specifications as outlined in this scope of work.
