Ellacombe School is looking for a new logo which will be used on:
- letter heads,
- badges at the school,
- and on uniform (embroided)
The logo will also be used on the website which is currently being developed at http://www.ellacombe.co.uk http://www.ellacombe.co.uk
Ellacombe has previously been a "failing" school and we are looking for a new logo to signify a new beginning, which will hopefully convey
- a bright future
- high aspirations
- reaching for the stars
The Head Teacher at the school asked some school children to think up some designs which might be appropriate for the school and they drew a sample. You can view it in the attached files.
This is the sort of thing that the school is looking for, two children with the world at their feet reaching out with their finger tips for the stars.
However, any designs which you come up with yourself will also be considered and a variety of ideas and concepts is exactly what the school is looking for, so you don't need to feel that you must copy the concept exactly, just so long as a sense of success is conveyed through your design.
It is essential that the words "Ellacombe School" be in the logo. Use any professional styled fonts which you feel appropriate for a school.
The logo should be playful, but at the same time, be mature. So close to being cartoon like... without actually been cartoonee. Characters for the children are welcome.
Where possible, designers are requested to incorporate the idea of "world at your feet" into the design. This might mean trying to turn the entire logo into the earth and somehow turning the children in it into the actual land masses, or by having the northern hemisphere featured behind or underneath the children in the design. It is not preferable for any location on the earth to be identifiable, so you do not need to make it look like a perfect globe, a simple and subtle globe as an abstract visual would be great, (however you are able to achieve that).
Potential inspiration for the style of shapes that I like (Only the Globes and People [Ignore the rest])
You can look at this contest also for inspiration.
