Our original logo idea was the number "413" superimposed over the state of Louisiana, with "SØUND" beneath (as shown in the attached picture". In this case, the state of Louisiana would not be a perfect image of the outline. Ideally, it would actually be a more abstract representation of the state which is artistic but clearly represents Louisiana (at least to those familiar with the state). The audio polarity symbol (Ø) was chosen for the word "SOUND" due to its relationship with audio. However, this was only an idea and is not a concrete requirement.
While the attached drawing is a basic idea of what we came up with, any artistic ideas incorporating the Louisiana theme (fleur de lis, state outline, etc.) and some sort of musical representation (audio wave forms, headphones, sound waves, etc.) are more than welcome.
The "slogan" - really it's just a description - (Live Sound | Mixing | Recording) could be incorporated under the logo in smaller text. Ideally we would eventually like to have versions of the logo with and without the subtext.
We would like the overall look of the logo to be clean and memorable. It should be be professional but fashionable, relatively simple, and it should grab attention. Colors are acceptable (especially bright colors as accents) but the logo should also work in black & white.
The logo will be printed on the following media, from most to least concern: t-shirts (most likely large on the back of the shirt, but possibly a front pocket logo), business cards, stickers, posters, letterhead, and eventually on a company website.
