Raven Business Transformations is a consulting and training provider specializing in Diversity and Inclusion, an area of strategic organizational business management and human resources. We also offer interim project management and business coaching.
As consultants and trainers, we help businesses become more innovative, effective and successful through harnessing the power of diversity and inclusion. We do this by working closely with them to identify the right strategies for increasing the diversity of their talent (that’s the Diversity part). We help them put that diversity into action by creating a work culture that values and includes everyone (the Inclusion part).
We chose the raven as part of our name because it has a rich variety of meanings around the world. We were initially inspired on a visit to Canada’s West Coast, where First Nations tribes regard the raven as a symbol for transformation and change, which is at the very heart of our business. Many other cultures around the world also associate the raven with positive qualities, such as curiosity, intelligence, guidance, adaptability, strong social skills and new beginnings.
But the raven also has darker meanings. In Europe since the introduction of Christianity, the raven is seen as a symbol of superstition and dark forces.
This duality in meaning resonates with the realities of the journey we guide people through. The path towards greater organizational diversity and inclusion is generously strewn with success and benefits, but challenges, too, will be met along the way. Using “raven” as part of our name reflects this duality of challenge and reward as well as of the multiplicity of perspectives this work invites into each organization.
The logo should be clean, pure, simple and elegant. Raven may work best in bigger letters, with Business Transformations in smaller below, though we are open to other ideas. We do NOT want a fully representational image of a raven as part of the logo. We would like parts of the logo image to have the potential for being etched, such as for letterhead and business cards.
