Our brand: Sustainable Cities delivers planning, knowledge exchange, research and capacity building services in the area of urban sustainability to municipalities. Our work involves: peer-exchange, knowledge transfer, knowledge mobilization, research, planning, analysis, and internships.
Previously, our brand portrayed a non-profit organization based in Vancouver, Canada that worked with municipalities and young professionals on implementing small to mid-scale sustainability projects mostly in the global south and facilitated knowledge transfer from Canada to the global south.
The transformation we want to achieve with the refreshed brand is to portray a non-profit organization based in Vancouver that aims at knowledge transfer activities not just into one direction but into multiple directions. We want to be an open minded, intelligent, creative, connected, pragmatic, inclusive and personable brand.
Our target audience: We work with municipal representatives, industry partners, students and individuals. At times we also collaborate with other non-profit organizations and academia.
Our Industry (competitors): We work in the non-profit sector and specialized on directly working with municipal staff on urban sustainability projects. Our outcomes and products involve webinars, workshops, study tours, research reports, strategy development and project implementation. Our competitors are ICLEI Canada, Sustainability Solutions Group, QUEST Canada, FCM, the Canadian Urban Institute, ICLEI International and Energy Cities. Sustainable Cities also operates a relatively loose international city network representing Canada, Mexico, Brazil, European and African cities.
Values: Our values are to provide the best service to municipalities and to create value in form of knowledge, innovation, diversity connectivity and change through teamwork. We want to support municipal staff and young professionals working for municipalities in their day to day operations and grow their capacity to achieve their sustainability targets.
