SACCONNESSET GOLF CLUB Brand Brief
Who we are?
A premiere private golf club located in the beautiful resort area of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Our club combines magnificent and challenging holes with a youthful, competitive and vibrant atmosphere that makes our members feel right at home We’ve recently changed our name to Sacconnesset Golf Club and are looking to change our logo to better represent our brand.
What is “Sacconnesset” origin?
The Town of Falmouth’s first known settlers were the Wampanoag Tribe. What is now referred to as Falmouth was called Sukinesset by the tribe.” A Place by the sea where the black wampum is found”. Since the tribe had no written language, the spelling of the name evolved over time to different variations.
We are about to launch our new website, so we’ve attached the link to provide a better feel of who we are. https://preview13.webfodder.com/
Our Target Audience
Unlike more traditional stuffy golf clubs, our membership is youthful (regardless of age), enthusiastic and affluent (some single, some with families) who enjoy the competition as well as camaraderie and socializing our club has to offer. While we have members across all age categories, our core is Adults 30-60, skewed toward males.
Competition, camaraderie, family friendly
Our logo will be used for everything from stationary, napkins, hole flags, entryway signages (an engraved rock) etc. An important need will be for a simplified version that will translate well to an embroidered emblem on apparel, such as golf shirts, hats, jackets, golf bags etc.
We’ve thought a bit about some of the icons that personify our club –
• Adirondack Chair - lines the exterior of the social gathering patio overlooking the golf course finishing 18th hole
• Fescue – grows throughout the property
• Boat - used during events as a hit the boat contest off the back patio in the midst of a high energy social setting
• Origin of Sacconnesset quahog shell (clam) or Wampum - Sukinesset was a place of great value to the Wampanoag as it was where they were able to harvest the most desirable quahog shells to make wampum (their currency).
• Focus on the letter S

Some ideas have been included in the images section for you to see what we have looked at from a grass roots level. We are open to other unique ideas. Our new logo should differentiate us from our competition to reflect our unique approach to the golf experience. However, we need you to be sensitive to our competition, so we’ve included their logos in the Images section.
The basis of grass (green) and water (blue) should be considered as key factors in the color choices. We are open to any color scheme, however, for apparel, we would consider adjusting it to coordinate with the clothing.
