1. The logo should introduce the product as a trustworthy, high-end & delightful experience. Both buyers and sellers of wedding dresses should feel like this is a special, discriminating place to review & buy wedding gowns.
An analogy would be an expensive spa/home/club: A place that it IMPLICITLY represents wealth & service so clearly, that the site can afford to have a more whimsical, cheeky name.
2. Speaking of whimsical, the logo can't be so serious that it kills the joy of wedding gown shopping. (I was going to name the website gownvault.com, but I realized that was TOO bank-like). Brides generally want to feel like all aspects of their wedding experience as unique and VERY happy. So that needs to come across in the brand.
3. Finally I chose the name, so that I could really make this a memorable brand. I'd like brand to POP- and be iconic eventually. The logo will play a big role in accomplishing this.
4. I'm not shooting for obvious fairy designs. I don't even need an image, but if you choose to use an image, please consider something subtle/ironic/or interesting.
My expected target audience*********
Women in the their mid20s with a developed sense of taste and style. They are young, working, fashionable & put-together. They might do yoga and shop at high even stores even though their budgets are tight right now. They have a sense of humor and irony and are a mix of trendy and classic.
