ebourget necesitaba un nuevo diseño de logotipo y lanzó un concurso de diseño en 99designs.
Un ganador ha sido elegido entre 499 diseños de 142 diseñadores freelance.
SMI stands for "specialty marketing international" (but they are known as "SMI" in their market).
What SMI does is that they work for product companies like Colgate, Gillette etc.. and distribute their products mainly on military bases (but they are working on expanding beyond that).
They distribute any consumer products that you can't eat, drink or smoke (think toothpaste, soap, electronics).
The target audience for the logo is mainly the product companies (as I said, Colgate, Sony, Tide...)
SMI mentioned that they would like to accentuate the fact that they are international. So they were thinking of incorporating a globe.
A globe can get tacky pretty quick though. So needs to be done subtly. I created and attached below a rough example of what that could be.
