I want to raise awareness of Undiagnosed Type 1 Diabetes. In January 2015 Peter Baldwin a 13 year boy from Cardiff died from the complications of undiagnosed type 1 diabetes, a simple blood costing a few pennies and taking less than 10 seconds would have saved his life.

My story has a lot in common with Peter's, when I was 5 years old I suddenly became ill and the diagnosis of type 1 diabetes was missed until I entered a coma. Now in my 40th year of living with type 1 diabetes I will be running 40 half marathons to raise awareness of the condition there are 3 areas of focus:
- Primarily the signs and symptoms of undiagnosed Type 1 - (Thirsty, Weight Loss, Frequent Urination, Tiredness) - these might be considered as hazards and I have one idea of basing these symptoms on road sign designs - e.g. a white triangle with a red border - each triangle containing a simple but easily recognisable symbol for each of the main symptoms.
- To demonstrate that diabetes does not stop or prevent you from exercising
- To demonstrate that type 1 and type 2 diabetes are distinct and different
This campaign is a not for profit exercise to raise awareness in the wider community of the symptoms of diabetes and it will also be promoted by Diabetes UK the largest diabetes charity in the UK and I also have some additional
