Metricstory is a point and click interface that allows ANYONE (think simple, clean and very easy to use) to add custom analytics (normally very difficult) to their website in minutes (instead of hours & hours) without having to understand coding or complexities of an analytics tool. This saves significant time and money for a company to understand its customers. Something every company wants. Custom analytics, like someone adding items to their cart, signing up, signing in, watching a video, requesting newsletter, filling out a form, etc., provides a full picture of a user on each page of a website, and thus the name Metric"story". The story of your users/customers and their metrics, or what they did in your store/website.
However, we don't want any book imagery used in our logo, because it potentially implies a complexity (like you need to read a book) which is the opposite of our tool.
Our target audience will likely be the long tail of the internet. The millions of Small to Medium size businesses who don't have the expertise, time or budget to hire developers or consultants to put custom analytics on their website. Instead they use our dead simple point & click interface that allows a user to visually walk through their website as one of their users might, and simply click on the items they want to track, and instantly they will be tracked.
We want a two-toned or one-toned logo that is simple, modern, and clean (reflective of what the user experience will be), accessible to the many, with color and shape that is grounding and reassuring. We are dealing with company's data, the potential lifeblood of their business.
Some example websites we think capture some of these ideas are: Optimizely.com (we like the contrast and lettering and the customized "O" in Optimizely); Digitalocean.com (it communicates what their product does very well); Dropbox.com (also easy to understand).
Our current website is merely a placeholder so please don't design around it. (metricstory.com)
