In general we don't want to restrict creativity here, and look forward to seeing your ideas. Here are a few pointers on our thoughts:
- Logo type
We definitely want a flat logo. Not glossy etc.
- Logo/brand usage
The logo will be used
1) on the website
2) in social media/advertising
3) on badges
3 is a central part. The logo will be used on badges showing total score for the product and/or "test winner" etc. These need to be high enough quality that a company can use them in e.g. an offline campaign as part of their advert, though the main usage will probably be on other websites.
We can probably design the badges ourselves if you feel this falls outside the scope of the project, but it is good to know the planned usage when designing.
In general it is a clear benefit if the logo is easily legible also at a small size and quite clean/simple, so that it can be utilized in a wide variety of contexts.
The .no part of test.no needs to be part of the logo, as test is too generic for a brand. Doesn't hurt if the logo can work with just "Test" after we've established ourselves, but .no can also be an integral part of the design.
If we can have a symbol that people can connect with our brand and perhaps understand has to do with testing and/or aggregation, that would be beneficial. E.g. like the wine pin in the example uploaded. But it can also be something simple that people can connect to our brand as we grow.
Also better if it works both on a dark and light background (perhaps inverted).
