Design Brief
The company is called Uber-ware and the URL will be http://www.uber-ware.co.uk. We are an online retailer of gaming PCs.
We are looking for a logo/identity for a new UK based high-end/gaming PC company. The company is heavily geared
towards gaming and although open to interpretation our thoughts are along the WW2, German, Tanks, blue prints, etc.
feel as this works with the name. These elements may be more at home in the overall site design which will come
later so the logo will need to work with this overall look and feel. The look and feel is something that players of
Call of Duty and other WW2 FPS games will be familiar with. For a normal company this may be too harsh,
controversial or aggressive but given our target audience and the nature of the product it would seem to fit well.
Target audience
Our target audience is 80% male with knowledge of the PC hardware industry, with large disposable incomes. They are
of an average age range of 21-36.
Brands we like:
Call of Duty series - Is a popular series and one of the inspirations for the brand, very good artwork and websites
http://www.companyofheroes.com - Again is a inspiration for the brand, good looking sites.
Battlefield series - Battlefield 1942 inparticular
Close Combat series - Very WW2 gritty looking series of games, the maps are very on concept.
Brands we don't like:
http://www.beastcomputers.co.uk - In my opinion a bad looking site we want our brand to look different to the competition
http://www.overclockers.co.uk - Is looking a bit retro 90s and dated now, keep away from this type of thing
http://www.dell.co.uk - Our cheif competitors really dell and alienware need to stand massively apart from us brand wise
The logo will be used primarily on the website but later to brand PCs with enamel badges and other marketing
activity. The company will utilise a strong social media strategy and will therefore utilise Twitter and Facebook
pages as well.
Brand guidelines
As a new brand there are no existing guidelines to work with for colours or fonts.
