Philanthropy Advisory Services [Note: I'm not sure if I want to have this tag line in the final design but I would like the option. Since I picked kind of an obscure name, I may need to have the tagline so to be clear about what I do.]

Ubi Caritas is a one woman philanthropy advisory consulting firm. We help clients design programs that create good in their communities. These might be programs that increase the number of girls that have educational opportunities, they might seek to reduce violence in a community to improve access to clean water or any number of improvements to social conditions.
Our clients include for-profit businesses, non-profits, academic institutions and governments. Clients are familiar with the philanthropy landscape and will typically be referred to me by a colleague. Clients choose Ubi Caritas because they know they will get thoughtful insight, global experience and a balanced approach.
Most of our business is international. Our clients are working in diverse communities around the world and expect us to know the context in these communities whether they are in Kenya, India, China and sometimes even here in my home town in the U.S.

While today when we hear the word "philanthropy" we think of a charity or a charitable gift the roots of the word etymologically, the word means "lover of humanity" in the sense of caring for, nourishing, developing, and enhancing what it is to be human. This concept is the core of my business, I help people who want to do "philanthropy" in the deepest sense of the word. This is what I need to convey with the logo.
I am looking for a logo that balances some seemingly opposite priorities. I want something clean and simple yet not so spare that it misses the opportunity to use a symbol to convey a deeper message about the community focus of my business. I would also like to balance the modern and classic. I want it to feel fresh but also timeless. I don't want the logo to feel dated in 5 years.
