Unique Design for an annual premier ultra endurance Swim Marathon Event held in the Nation's Capital

The DC Marathon Swim is a 20.5 mile epic adventure from Chain Bridge to Mount Vernon approved by the Marathon Swimming Federation. Navigating your way through Washington DC in the Potomac River, tides, currents, changing winds will challenge your open water skills and endurance. Each mile takes you through history as you soak in the monuments and scenery unique to our Nation’s Capitol. Ultra marathon swimmers, Denis Crean and Jim Loreto decided to be the first to swim through Washington DC and declare, one stroke at a time, that the Potomac is once again a swim-able river. This swim is conceived around the idea that the “Nation’s River” is once again accessible, flourishing with vibrant native life and worthy for all people to enjoy. MISSION: We are dedicated to executing an annual challenging, premier swimming event that brings joy to all that participate while promoting clean water in the Potomac River and making it a viable place for all to enjoy.

I really like a focus on Washington DC. Incorporating the DC Flag into the design (obviously swimming, the water, Water Maps and other nautical themed.).. This is an international Marathon Swim and want an emphasis on DC, water and swimming....also possibly putting the distance 20.5 Mile in the logo. 1) picture 1 is a sketch idea of using a swimmer as a silhouette in between the flag (kinda like #2 but an actual swimmer. #3 is an idea of using the map and. the flag and even George Washington but not crazy about it. the last picture is an actual nautical map of the enter race (starting at chain bridge and ends in Mount Vernon. I love the idea of incorporating somehow, ut totally open to idea. I don't like clip art style swimmers and looking for a more unique race design as we hope to make this a premier annual endurance event
