Our company is going through a name change from Barzilay Development to Urban Conversions. We have an outdated corporate website that we will be upgrading, but our first step is to create a new logo (for more background see barzdev.com). Our slogan is "Embrace the past, develop the future."
We are a Philadelphia-based real estate developers that convert unusual historic buildings like factories, churches, and high rises into apartments, many of which are lofts, targeted towards young professionals.
Please note that we are not architects nor a construction company. We are the developers that hire those companies. Also, please recognize that this website is not intended for consumers (prospective apartment renters) so this logo and website are for business to business relationships.
The logo should give off an impression that although we are a creative company, we are not designers but rather a financially stable company that develops millions of dollars of real estate and that you can trust.
We are NOT interested in clever presentation of initials as a logo.
We welcome original creative ideas, while we are not married to the following concepts, we wanted to share some ideas that we have:
We are essentially redevelopers, that take one thing and turn it into something else, as opposed to more straightforward real estate developers that build from the ground up. In the past, we had seen redevelopment logos that were circular in nature with arrows symbolizing the recycling process.
In addition, our founder/CEO always speaks about how the origins of the company came forth from his childhood playing with Legos. We are not interested in the Lego primary colors, the thought of a silver Lego 2x3 rectangular shape may be an option.
The logo needs to be relatively simple enough so that it can be used by embroidery companies.
