VintageWax.com is a business that buys and sells sports cards (baseball cards – but in all sports) and sports collectibles. Our primary clientele is not children – who idolize the current athletes in sports today – but rather the generation that grew up in the 1970's through the 2000's. The sports collectibles market does not cater to kids these days because the hobby of collecting cards has evolved into a legitimate industry, where hundreds of millions of dollars in annual sales are up for grabs.
Many collectibles have their own slang term for the items people collect:
Comics = Books
Comics are known as comic books, and as high-priced commodities, the term “books” indicates a more professional tone, as the word “comics” sounds more child-like.
Coins = Rounds
The staple of coin collecting are 1 ounce silver or gold coins, known as rounds.
Watches = Pieces
Watches are also known as timepieces, and it would appear the term “pieces” sounds classier. Oddly enough, this slang term has evolved to describe jewelry and even guns.
Unopened boxes of baseball cards = Wax Boxes
Unopened packs of baseball cards = Wax Packs
In the sports cards community, “vintage wax” refers to the way every child started collecting, by purchasing packs of baseball cards at the corner store, and opening the packs to see what card they got, while chewing on the stick of gum that also came in the pack. From the 1930's through the early 1990's, packs of cards were wrapped in a wax paper, then sealed by a hot metal roller melting the wax paper to form a tight seal. Plastic wrappers didn’t become a better and more cost-effective option until the 1990's.

Some sort of graphic would be nice, but I like the background and font.
The color combination is a little hard to read.
We are a brand new start up, so I don't know exactly where the company will eventually go. While we want the logo to brand us as a collectible store, we don't want it to be so specific that if/when we expand, the logo won't 'fit' us anymore.
