The term “oilfield” is commonly used to describe all surface land, subsurface reservoirs, wells, pipelines, facilities, and services associated with oil and gas production in an area. Historically, water infrastructure and service didn’t add up to more than a tiny fraction of the oilfield machine. However, with the rise of unconventional shale production, water infrastructure and strategy are now massive concerns for any oil producer. In some areas, such as the Permian basin, there is in fact much more water produced than oil. In today’s world, the fact is that oil producing areas are as much “waterfield” as they are “oilfield”.
At Waterfield Midstream, we bring expertise and excellence to all aspects of the modern “waterfield”. We are geologists, petroleum engineers, facilities engineers, regulatory professionals, commercial experts, and infrastructure operators. We have designed, built, and operated some of the most extensive water infrastructure in the oil and gas industry. We recognize that when it comes to water, being an expert in the subsurface is every bit as important as being an expert on the surface. Our upstream roots uniquely qualify us to mitigate the subsurface challenges of water injection and production. Our midstream experience enables us to develop efficient and scalable infrastructure solutions. We take a very long-term approach to water midstream with a focus on emerging technologies that have the potential to create meaningful change in the industry. Simply put, our intent is to bring an unprecedented level of expertise to bear on industry’s water challenges. In doing so, we will provide low cost, reliable, and sustainable water solutions to our upstream partners for decades to come.
