Ruth's Beauty
Ruth’s Beauty is a web company that provides hair replacement systems (wigs, etc) and extensions to women of all ethnicities. Our wigs are hand-tied with hair imported form India, Brazil, Russia and Malaysia. Our slogan is “Shamelessly gorgeous” and our products encompass both aspirational beauty and also practical hair replacement. We provide have a wonderful offering of “fantasy hair” and natural looking, undetectable wigs and extensions that are equally appealing to customers with medical hair loss. We specialize in providing natural looking textures for hair that looks like you were born with it.
Hair is very personal, and we give extensive consultations to our customers and answer detailed questions about hair types, wig care and maintenance the wig making process. Hand-written thank you notes are enclosed with each order. We also have an exclusive scent that we use on all of our wigs and hair pieces. We work to convey personalized service and a shared quest for beauty, self improvement and restoration.
Women ages 30-55 are our primary customers. The products are by nature fairly expensive and we have value-priced wigs that primarily target women spending $400-1000 on a single wig every few months. Our customers may be in the middle of chemotherapy, coping with long term hair loss, brides looking for flowing romantic hair for their wedding pictures, performers, or women simply looking to try “celebrity hair”. All of these women are united by a quest for beauty, quality and value, and our purpose is to provide all three with great attention to detail.
Our secondary target audience is comprised of women in their early 20’s looking for either high-end glamorous wigs, or inexpensive first time wigs.
Finally, with the coming addition of extensions and synthetic hair, there will be a broader range of ages and price points, but we still want the brand identity to be “lux value”- great products and customer service and prices that are a welcome surprise.

Wig industry marketing is generally separated into “black” companies and “white” companies. We are a black-owned company with a multiracial target market. We want to be appealing to everyone while being true to our roots ;-)
I would like further entries that develop this idea of the silhouette by using a modernized cameo silhouette. Please let the design have a slightly African American look, while avoiding being overly ethnic or cartoonish. I am looking for elegance, modernism and straddling the line between minimalism and ornament.
I have attached a sample of what I mean. I used lettering from 132, so please do not copy it. The image I used is a generic cameo silhouette from a Google image search. Please submit an original silhouette of your own design. If possible, the silhouette should incorporate an R and a B similar to 132. The winning entry should be rendered in black and white as well as in brown and white.
Please give careful thought to the font as well. The winning entry will have an updated, modern silhouette of a classic cameo and a separate yet complimentary font for the company name and slogan.

Looking for a strong design that incorporates and original graphic using (i) the letters R and B OR (ii) face(s) and hair. Please see notation below about the requirements for any faces used.
Please use abstraction- the design should not be too literal and the lettering should be very interesting and unique. Don't hold back.

Be creative. Something concise yet comprehensive that would work as a silhouetted design. We need an eye catching logo incorporating
(i) a symbol (such as a stylized version of a back-to-back letter R and a letter B) accompanied by a stylized rendering of “Ruth’s Beauty” and the slogan “Shamelessly gorgeous” OR
(ii) face(s) and hair incorporated into the words "Ruth’s Beauty" accompanied by a stylized rendering of the slogan “Shamelessly gorgeous”
The design should convey beauty, quality and value with a hint of luxury and value. The key is to capture some of the contradictions that make wigs appealing. Wigs must capture the imagination yet aim to be undetectable/ bold yet utterly discreet/ fantasy yet natural looking. We have tried a combination of fonts to convey this- pairing very feminine lettering for "Ruth's Beauty" with non serif clean fonts for our slogan "Shamelessly gorgeous". Any designs incorporating hair and a face should either have one ethnically ambiguous face or should include 3 or 4 distinctive ethnicities.
